Geology Outing

Science 155: Global Environment Earth Science

On a sunny morning, students in the Global Environmental Earth Science class headed outdoors to Parc La Fontaine.

After a short lecture on geology, they observed the landscape of the park and used a key to identify rocks and minerals.

They were surprised to learn that rocks and minerals could take on so many patterns and colors, and also that 13,000 years ago, there were whales swimming in what is now Montreal!
