Presidents Day at Montreal campus

IMG_2357Oct. 24th was a big day for us up here in Montreal. Champlain’s newest President, Don Laackman and Provost, Laurie Quinn, crossed the border from Burlington, Vermont to see our newly renovated campus and meet staff, faculty, students, alumni and internship providers. We were also overjoyed to welcome OIE staff from Burlington. What a treat!

The event was a great success, with everyone getting to enjoy the new space David Provost and Montreal guesttogether and learn more about what we do here in Montreal. The Burlington staff members even had the chance to meet our amazing mascot – Carmack LeShark! For those who don’t know, Carmack lives in the computer labs and assists with student stress relief.

CrowdPreparations for this day involved a lot more than organizing a fantastic party. In truth, it all started several months ago when we acquired the first floor of this four floor Montreal heritage building. It was decided that in order for our campus to feel like a proper school campus we should add a spacious and bright student lounge with a proper kitchen, a much needed extra computer lab and a production room.

Renovations began in June and our awesome Assistant Director Gigi worked tirelessly to get the building President Laackman with Montreal instructorready for the students of the Fall semester. Although there were various set-backs and challenges to overcome along the way, the first floor lounge now looks better than we ever could have imagined.

Check out the before and after photos. What an improvement! Thanks to the amazing super powers of the Montreal staff, we managed to get everything in place for the arrival of our guests. We did it! Now we are thrilled to have this great space to offer our current students, as well as future students who decide to study abroad in Montreal.

Come visit us anytime!

All the best from Montreal staff Genevieve, Gigi and Andrea!
