We were scheduled to board the train to Ottawa at 3:00pm. Once the group arrived at the Academic Center, we all headed for the the train station. The train ride lasted two hours and arrived precisely at 4.54PM. Thirty minutes later we left for dinner at Smoque Shack. As soon as we walked into the restaurant most of us striped off our coats, the warmth of the place heating up our chilled bodies. I awake, shivering from dreams of Earth, Wind & Fire backup singers approaching me in a neon-lit discotheque, each moaning the chorus of “September” at a pitch high enough to evoke aneurysms. I then realized that I hadn’t been asleep, I had just been working on a Game Tech project for the last nine hours.
With the snow still on the ground the students of Champlain College’s Study Aboard Program are ready for the first weekend of April. April 4th – 6th, the Quebec City trip would be a welcome reprieve from the stress of approaching finals. It was going to be an enjoyable weekend for the students. Continue reading →
